Return to Lausanne
Our program allows you plenty of time to discover your new country, culture and customs. Below are some of our recommended highlights. Some tours and packages can be organized when booking your program, please see the program price page for more information.
City Tour
After classes are over for the day, our program allows you plenty of time to immerse themselves completely in the life of the town. Lausanne has more to offer young people than most Swiss cities: nightlife, bars, bistros, discos...16 museums and collections stage more than 50 exhibitions a year, from dinosaurs to contemporary art.
Each month, more than 100 stage and opera productions, concerts and variety shows fill theaters and auditoriums across the city. Musée de l'Art Brut has an unusual but fascinating exhibit of art by untrained artists including imprisoned criminals, mental patients, and eccentrics.
Activities offered could include: sports such as sailing on Lake Geneva in the summer or skiing in the winter at nearby resorts, guided Tour of Lausanne, Fondue Evening, Films at the School, museum visits including the Olympic Museum which hosts a great exhibition about the Olympic movement. Lausanne's magnificent cathedral from the 12th is a must see or take a walk along Lake Léman (Lake Geneva) to Pully or in the opposite direction to St. Sulpice.
On the weekend many students can arrange to take optional excursions to local cities or local places of interest. Trips could include: Boat trips on Lake Geneva, i.e. Evian (France), discover Avenches, a former Roman city, stroll along the shores of lake Murten and Lake Neuchâtel, visit the towns of Zermatt, Vevey and a visit to the Nestlé museum, Geneva, Zurich, Lucerne, Berne or Interlaken.
