Enjoy a Russian language course in Russia at our language school in the city of Moscow.
Moscow is a city unlike anywhere else in the world! It is a symbol of Russian spiritual and political power, that dates back more than 850 years. Today the city is a barometer of the changes sweeping through Russia. Formerly referred to as the centre of one of the world's superpowers, Moscow is still reeling from the rapid change that it has undergone.
Nowhere other than in Moscow are Russia's contrasts more apparent: ancient monasteries and ultra-modern monoliths stand side by side. Russian millionaires and poverty stricken pensioners walk the same streets. Moscow's energy lies within its many neighbourhoods, each of which is unique and waiting to be discovered.
The Kremlin, at the very heart of Moscow, has been the home of power for grand princes, religious leaders, tsars and most recently, presidents.
For Westerners, the adjacent Red Square, recognized by the bulbous, multicolored domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, has been an image synonymous with the Soviet Union and the Russian state. Surrounding this center are Stalin's so-called Seven Sisters: a harsh reminder of Communism in Russia.
Along the path to the Kremlin, along Novy Arbat, high-rises are lined up like giant dominoes waiting to tumble. However, tucked away are the remnants of the older city, which include several beautiful neo-classical houses and impressive structures, such as the Bolshoi Theater.
The most surprising treasures of Moscow are the underground palaces of the metro system, a system which is also internationally recognized for its efficiency.
One aspect of the city that remains constant to this day is the harshness of Moscow's winter. Despite the bitter cold, nothing compares to the beauty of St. Basil's Cathedral in the falling snow. In contrast, summer temperatures over 30°C (86°F) are not unusual.

Our school is centrally located and only a short walk from one of the main rail stations (Belorussian Station) and a metro station. We are also just a 10 minute taxi ride to the Kremlin! Located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood with 24 hour security, our school is on the ground floor of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs building. (The remainder of the building is used by foreign diplomats and international press.) It is close to all amenities including cafés, restaurants and shops.
Our school is associated with ROPRYAL (Russian Association of Teachers for Russian Language and Literature) and is a TRKI (TORFL) Testing Centre. Should you like to study in both Moscow and St Petersburg, we offer a "split city program" between both our schools

Host Family: (private room) 2 meals daily.
Living with a host family is probably the best and most effective way to become fully immersed into the language and culture of your chosen country. Russia is a country with a basic infrastructure and power or hot water failures are not uncommon. However, justly famous Russian hospitality will play its part in overcoming most of these problems.
We usually select families without any foreign language knowledge (English speaking Russians are desperate for some English conversation). However, if a participant feels uneasy about this approach, we will find them a host family where English is spoken. Our experience shows that even absolute beginners will be able to communicate after the first few days.
Our host families usually live not more than 40 minutes away by public transport. Students have access to all living areas in the house and in most cases, will be expected to share the bathroom. All bed linens and pillows will be provided, however we suggest you bring your own towels.
Self Catering Apartments: (private room) no meals.
Our apartments are normally located within the same distance as the host families and are shared with other international students studying at the school. Our apartments are co-ed, however rooms are shared with the same gender. Apartments are not air conditioned but have fans and will be cleaned once every week. No washing machine is available, however, there is generally a laundromat close-by.
All apartments provide a well equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), shared bathroom facilities and living areas. The apartments vary in size and number of bedrooms, depending on the location in the city but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students.
NOTES: Airport transfers may be included or available, also extra nights can be booked before / after course (at an additional cost), please check price page for details. The Sunday night accommodation before your course begins on Monday, is included in the program price. All meals will be local custom and meal times may be different to what you are used to, however you are not obligated to eat all your meals with the family, just notify them when you will not be returning to eat.. Our families are diverse with young couples without children, couples with children (of all age groups) and older couples with grown children who are no longer at home. Please see the Accommodation link for additional information.
