city tour
Kitzbühel has been an independent town since 1271 and has kept its romantic character to the present day. It is ideal for walking, worth visiting is the museum of Tyrolean history and the Kupferplatte display and the many churches and monasteries. From town, trails wind around the river leading walkers to the mountains. The mountains have miles of well marked, snowy, walking trails with strategically placed wooden benches for optimum vista viewing. Rushing brooks and thick
snow-covered forests more than compensate for the steep paths. Ultimately the trails lead to ski lifts, where you can stop for a hot meal, drinks, or to watch the skiers.
winter sports
Sports fans will of course primarily be interested in the 200 km of ski slopes and hiking trails. It offers miles of ski trails with varying degrees of difficulty. Cross country skiers have as many options as the downhill crowd. After all the exertions in the snow, what could be better than the whirlpool and a sauna.
